Dr. Schoenfeld’s first acrylic canvas piece, “Sensuous Curves”, is a close-up of dahlia leaves, providing an interpretation of the forms of nature. The photography reveals the shapes and textures that nature provides, utilizing close-up (macro) photography and digital enhancement. The translucency of the print form offers a medium to enhance the textures of nature.
“We are delighted to be part of this new direction for print photography,” said Marilyn Lavi, manager and spokesperson for the BJ Spoke Gallery. “The gallery fosters its members’ creativity and provides an avenue for the public to experience new art forms. We look forward to having available other of Dr. Schoenfeld’s works on acrylic canvas in future shows.” The gallery will also have on display other photographs by Dr. Schoenfeld utilizing additional innovative print media which uses Giclee print images and fuses the photographic print to aluminum or acrylic. Dr. Schoenfeld has specifically selected images that display the unique qualities of each of these processes.
